Once upon a time, there lived a Rock called Pawii.
Once upon a time, there lived a Cactus called Shully.
Pawii is hard and strong, just like any other Rock.
Shully is prickly and self-sufficient, just like any other Cactus.
Pawii wants to connect to someone. But looking stony and dull, she was afraid she would get rejected by others.
She waited and waited for a day might come, that someone will come and be her friend.
Shully wants to connect to someone. But being thorny and shy, she was afraid to prick and hurt somebody.
She waited and waited for a day might come, that someone will not get hurt by her.
One fine day, Shully went for a class and sat next to Pawii. Being clumsy in nature, she slipped and fell and landed on Pawii.
Shully quickly got up and apologize, “I’m sorry, did I hurt you?” tears welling in her eyes.
Pawii turned around and blinked. “Why are you apologizing?” She asked in confusion.
Shully stared at her in amazement and answered, “I am a Cactus, my thorns are spiky and they hurt others. I was afraid that I hurt you.”
Pawii shook her head and smiled. “I am a Rock. I am hard and strong, I did not get hurt.” Showing her gleaming teeth.
Shully beamed in excitement! Thinking, “Finally, I found someone who will not get hurt by my thorns.”
Pawii looked eagerly at Shully. Thinking, “Finally, I found someone who wants to talk to me.”
At the same time, both of them burst out saying, “Would you be my friend?”
“Yes!”
And that’s how the friendship of a Rock and a Cactus begun…
